California Propane Day Declared for April 15, 2025

We’re proud to share an exciting milestone for the propane industry—Monday, April 7th, 2025, marked the unanimous passage of ACR 15: California Propane Day by the California State Assembly. Thanks to the efforts of Assemblymember Juan Alanis, and with the support of the Western Propane Gas Association (WPGA), April 15, 2025, has officially been proclaimed California Propane Day.

This recognition highlights the vital role propane plays across the state—from home heating and cooking to agriculture, transportation, and commercial energy needs. It’s a moment of pride for the industry, and a great opportunity to raise awareness about the clean, efficient, and reliable benefits of propane.

A Look at the Support

ACR 15 received remarkable backing:

  • 57 Assemblymembers signed on as coauthors—nearly 75% of the Assembly!

  • Support came from 44 Democrats and 13 Republicans, showing strong bipartisan appreciation for propane’s impact.

  • 24 coauthors came from districts where WPGA held direct meetings during Propane Lobby Day—a testament to the power of industry advocacy.

Next, the resolution will move to the California Senate, where a Senator will carry it forward for a floor vote and collect additional coauthors.

Moving Forward Together

This is more than a day of recognition—it’s a celebration of the propane industry’s legacy, innovation, and essential role in California’s energy future. Let’s use this moment to elevate our voice, educate our communities, and continue building a brighter future powered by propane.

Happy California Propane Day!
